DAYLIGHT FLUORESCENT
PIGMENTS |
DAYLIGHT FLUORESCENT PIGMENTS
are solid solutions of one or more fluorescent dyes in a transparent
high-molecular weight synthetic resin & are offered as very
bright coloured free flowing powders. |
|
FLUORESCENCE:
Conventional pigments produce colour by selectively reflecting
part of the incident light, absorbing the remainder which is
converted to heat. Fluorescent pigments, however, convert part
of this absorbed energy into light of their own colour; thus
re-emitting more light than actually falls on them, causing
a glow called fluorescence. |
 |
LIGHT FASTNESS:
of Daylight Fluorescent pigments on indoor exposure is usually unlimited,
while on outdoor exposure these tend to fade gradually. |
 |
HEAT RESISTANCE:
varies from one series to another and is about (upto) 260°C
for our PL series, 210°C - 220°C for our SR Conc series
and 180°C for our VX Conc series, depending on the duration
of exposure and the application. |
 |
SOLVENT RESISTANCE:
must be checked for specific solvent/ combination for the recommended
grade of pigments (SR CONC), Toners being soluble in suitable
solvents. |
 |
DISPERSABILITY:
of these pigments is exceptionally good & stirring or soft
grinding in the suitable binder/ media is enough. |
 |
TRANSPARENCY:
of these pigments is very good, it is thus recommended to use
these on white ground with none or minimum blending with other
shades/ opacifiers. |
